Healthcare Committee Meeting with BIR Officials

Last 26 February 2020, the ECCP and members of its Healthcare Committee met with Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) officials including Deputy Commissioner for Legal Affairs Marissa Cabreros, and Assistant Commissioner Manuel Mapoy, to talk about the implementation of the recently-signed Republic Act No. 11467. The key provision of RA 11467 are the implementation of increased sin tax on alcoholic beverages and tobacco products, as well as imposition of VAT exemption for the importation and sale of medicines prescribed for select diseases such as hypertension and diabetes.
